Why Choose Zoycen Anti Riot Shield?

  • High molecular weight PC — higher impact resistance than glass and acrylic.
  • Withstands 147J impact without penetration.
  • Passes 20J puncture test per GA68‑2003.
  • The thermoformed curved surface deflects incoming objects.
  • Grip connection strength tested to 500N.
  • Rounded, polished edges — no sharp edges or burrs.

Why You Can Trust Zoycen Riot Shield?

We use high molecular weight polycarbonate. Its molecular chains bend and absorb impact energy. We heat the PC sheet to about 150 to 180°C and shape it in a single cycle. That preserves material integrity and ensures consistent impact performance over time.

We check every polycarbonate riot shield at three stages. Incoming raw materials, in-process production, and final testing. 24/7 after-sales support. We run PC, acrylic, and ABS lines under one quality system. Every polycarbonate shield meets the same standard. Our handles reduce wrist strain. Straps keep your polycarbonate riot shield secure during heavy impact.

Are polycarbonate riot shields bulletproof?

Standard PC shields are not bulletproof. They stop rocks, bottles, and blunt force. A typical shield is 3.0mm to 4.5mm thick.

In ballistic-grade shield systems, multi-layer polycarbonate combined with UHMWPE or composite materials can achieve NIJ IIIA protection levels under certified testing conditions.

For rifle threats, we combine polycarbonate with ceramic or UHMWPE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene) to reach NIJ Level III or IV. NIJ-related test data available upon request.

Why Are PC Riot Shields Curved?

The curve pushes thrown objects to the side so they don’t hit you straight on. It also makes the shield stronger. A curved polycarbonate shield is tougher than a flat one of the same thickness. We build ours with this shape so you get better protection and easier handling.

What Is Your Minimum Order Quantity for Polycarbonate Riot Shields?

Our MOQ for standard models is often 100 pieces. For custom orders, we are flexible, and the MOQ depends on your specific requirements, like size, thickness, and logo printing. Contact us with your target quantity, and we will give you a practical proposal.

Can I Get a Sample of a Clear Riot Shield Before a Bulk Order?

Yes. We offer polycarbonate riot shield samples for testing before you make a bulk order. We charge for samples, but that amount goes toward your final order. We typically ship samples within 7 days. Just send us your specs, and we’ll get a polycarbonate shield sample ready.

How Long Does a Custom Polycarbonate Riot Shield Order Take?

Custom polycarbonate riot shield orders usually take 2 to 4 weeks from design approval to shipment. Simple updates like logo printing or color changes add about 3 to 5 days. Complex projects like custom shapes or new tooling take longer. We always confirm the timeline before we start production.

How Long Does a Polycarbonate Anti-Riot Shield Last?

With regular use and proper care, our polycarbonate anti-riot shields typically last 5 to 8 years. We use UV-stabilized material to resist yellowing and maintain clarity over time. We also offer a 5-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

How Are Polycarbonate Riot Shields Packaged for Shipping?

We wrap each transparent riot shield individually with protective film to prevent scratches during transit. For bulk orders, we pack them in export-standard cartons with reinforced corners. We also offer custom packaging if you need it.

What Is a Polycarbonate Anti-Riot Shield?

Police and security teams use polycarbonate anti-riot shields for crowd control. The shield is transparent and lets officers see threats clearly and react fast.

It is one sheet of polycarbonate with two handles mounted on the back. The operator wears it on the left arm and keeps the right hand free. The material is lightweight, impact-resistant, and clear.

The shield stops rocks, bottles, and blunt force. It blocks baton swings and holds back crowd pressure. Larger shields cover the whole body. Smaller models allow faster movement.

Most shields deliver at least 85% light transmittance. Standard models weigh about 2.4kg to 2.75kg. Polycarbonate is about 20% lighter than acrylic and offers three times the impact resistance. Acrylic cracks under impact. Polycarbonate absorbs the hit and stays clear.

PC vs Metal Riot Shield — What Is the Difference?

Both the PC riot shield and the metal riot shield meet GA 422 standards. It is the Chinese national standard for police riot shields.

Visibility

PC shields have a transparent shield body with light transmittance between 85% and 92%. Officers can see clearly and spot threats quickly.  Some metal riot shields use aluminum alloy, and the body is opaque.

Metal shields require a separate observation window. A typical aluminum shield has a window around 250 mm×120 mm. That gives you much less visibility than a full, clear riot shield.

Puncture Resistance

High-strength metal stops knife thrusts. Under sustained blade attacks, metal riot shields hold up well. They are suited for high-risk scenarios. PC anti-riot shields also pass the 20J puncture test under GA68-2003, but they don’t match metal against continuous and aggressive knife attacks.

Weight

Polycarbonate riot shields are lighter than metal ones.  A standard PC riot shield weighs around 2.4 kg, and a round model even goes down to 1.6 kg. For quick-response missions or long-duration operations, officers can stay sharp longer with less arm strain.

Durability and Maintenance

Metal riot shields last 8 years with proper maintenance. They need regular rust protection. A heavy hit can bend the shield. Some bends don’t affect performance. Severe ones may compromise protection. You can repair some bends. Replacement is often more practical. That adds to the long-term cost.

Polycarbonate shields do not rust or corrode. A PC riot shield with UV protection stays clear for over 10 years. Some manufacturers offer up to 15 years with proper coating. Without UV protection, you get yellowing and micro-cracks in 3 to 5 years. The surface scratches more easily than metal. Premium models add a UV-stabilized layer to slow that down.

Cost

Metal shields cost more upfront and in long-term maintenance. PC shields cost less and offer better value for most patrol and crowd control operations.

Best Use Cases

For daily patrol and crowd control, transparent riot shields are light and cost less. Your team moves faster and sees more. For high-risk riot control with sustained impacts, PC riot shields still work. They take repeated hits and can lock together to form a wall.

How to Choose the Right Polycarbonate Riot Shield?

Here’s what to check before you buy.

Material Grade

Ask your supplier exactly which polycarbonate they use. Standard PC and high molecular weight PC are different. High molecular weight PC takes repeated impacts better and lasts longer in the field.

UV and Scratch Protection

UV coating isn’t optional if you want these shields to look and perform well after a couple of years. Without it, the plastic yellows and turns brittle in a few years. Uncoated polycarbonate picks up scuffs quickly, and once visibility degrades, the shield is less useful.

Thickness and Weight

Most PC shields are 3.0 mm to 4.5 mm thick. Thicker shields give more protection.  A standard 900×500 mm shield at 3.5 mm thick is about 2.38 kg. Round shields can be as light as 1.6 kg. Ask for the exact weight of the model you are buying. Your team carries these shields for hours.

Optical Clarity

Industry standard transmittance is 84% to 89%. Below 84%, visibility drops. Ask the supplier for the actual tested number. Do not accept a vague claim like “high clarity.”

Impact, Puncture, and Grip Strength

Impact resistance must meet 147J. The polycarbonate anti-riot shield body does not penetrate at the strike point. Puncture resistance must pass GA68-2003 at 20J. Grip connection strength must hold at 500N minimum. The handle stays intact under load.

Certifications

GA 422 is the Chinese national standard for police riot shields. NIJ 0104.02 is the U.S. standard. ISO 9001 covers quality management. A reliable supplier provides test reports from accredited labs.
